TOOLS

The right Tools for the job
It is absolutely imperative that you use the right Tools when pulling or Pressing Chassis pieces. Wheels and Gears Must be (dead nut on) just as perfectly straight as humanly possible. Tools can range from store bought, to homemade. If it works, and helps get the job done, USE IT, by all means. If you don't have the proper tool, then borrow it from your buddy 'til the budget allows you to purchase your own tool. Just remember who it belongs to and respect that tool as if it is your own.

PULLERS AND PRESSES
Many tools are specific to their application, while others can be used for multiple applications. Your local tuners will guide you to the most used and necessary tools. In the meantime, rely on others to help you out. This is no place to let pride get in the way, especially if you want to run with the pack. Your arsenal of tools can grow as your budget allows. Be patient. Overspending can end a fun and rewarding hobby prematurely.
These presses and pullers will allow you to properly install or remove parts that are crucial to the proper handling and transfer of power from the arm to the track.
PROFILE TOOLS
These tools will ensure that you remain within published specs of the class you run in. They will also help you guarantee that your shoes communicate a full compliment of electricity to the arm. This is accomplished by allowing you to examine the profile of your shoe in relation to the rail which supplies the juice.
While you're at it, be sure that all four tires are in contact with the track. As simple as it may seem, this little tip has eluded some of the most seasoned tuners... for awhile.
DRIVERS, HOBBY PLIERS, DREMEL, CALIPER, TWEEZER, PIN VISE
Ever wonder why you see guys checking the size of their tires? This is common knowledge to the seasoned tuner. You won't be plucking eyebrows or filing your nails with the tweezers and emery boards. Those tiny parts, in hard to reach areas, are much more easily plucked out with the tweezers. The emery boards will come in handy for a plethera of tuning tasks. When used in conjunction with the small mandrel, shown in the picture, you can eliminate vibration which originates from an out-of-round tire.
The pin vise can be used to drill a pilot hole in your resin body mounts. The screwdriver will get your body mounting screws started. The hobby knife should not be used to sever an artery. If you're having that much trouble, find a new hobby, or get a life.
The Dremel should be pictured by itself, as it has far too many uses to be listed here. Ditto for the pliers.
